Green Energy Efficient Homes - Which Technologies Do They Use?

!: Green Energy Efficient Homes - Which Technologies Do They Use?

Green energy efficient homes are those which utilize the energy found in the surrounding environment. These can be passive solar homes that use the general heating property of the sun's rays for warmth and air ventilation; those which use active solar energy through the use of solar panels that generate electricity from the sun's rays; geothermal homes, which use the cooling and heating qualities of the ground beneath them through the use of networks of pipes embedded in the Earth and water running through them; then there are wind powered homes using electricity produced from windmills reaping the fruits of the wind blowing by; and the list goes on. But which ones are the most efficient at producing enough energy for its own use, and which type of environmentally provided energy does it mostly rely on?

Well, there are a few types of "green energy". Efficient use of any of them can depend upon the efficiency of the means of production, but as far as which is best to use when applying it to home use, the real and true answer would be all of them. That is to say, it is far more efficient to utilize a combination of resources than to just use any single one. For example, one might bury a network of pipes underground to run water through in order to transfer the Earth's stored heat to the water within the pipes, and then circulate it throughout the house to provide heat and hot water, and also put solar panels to good use along with a wind-driven generator in order to supply the house with a constant flow of electricity.

Do you see what I mean here? With all of the available types of green energy, efficient use would best be accomplished by using a combined effort from more than one angle of attack. Heating could be provided by passive solar/geothermal energy, electricity could be provided by active solar/wind-generated power, and then you'd have a home that was truly green energy efficient. With all of the free energy available to us as it's being constantly provided by our surrounding environment, it would almost seem quite silly not to grab every opportunity available to put it all to good use.

It's simple common sense to use what's given to you, right? So instead of wasting energy digging up fossil fuels to burn off to provide energy and pollution at the same time, we would all do well to utilize constantly renewable energies that won't suffer depletion from our using it, nor will we cause the environment to suffer from using it either. Green, energy efficient technologies that have little to no impact on our environment are available for our use - why not use this free energy and try to erase the carbon footprint we've made in our environment at the same time?
